OUT NOW: WHO'S THAT
The War On Drugs return with the new single, “Who’s That,” their first new studio recording released since 2022. Written and produced by band leader Adam Granduciel at his Burbank studio compound, “Who’s That” is a rousing anthem that progressively swells, growing bigger with each listen. Bolstered by Anthony LaMarca’s drums, Dave Hartley’s bass and a swarm of his own electric guitars and keyboards, Granduciel emphatically contemplates, “Did I blow it? // Did it just explode? // There’s a lion hanging from my teeth // I can taste it but I can’t get close,” before reflecting, “It’s only my depression, baby.” “The War on Drugs’ music could change the dimensions of a room” (Pitchfork), and “Who’s That” is clear proof.
"'Who’s That' was written in 10 minutes somewhere between first coffee and school drop off,” comments Granduciel. “It’s a song about trying to love yourself despite things we can’t always control, like the anxiety, depression and self doubt that may stand in the way of living the life we truly desire."
“Who’s That” is accompanied by a Max Flick-directed video featuring Granduciel on a surreal late night stroll around the streets of Burbank.

The War On Drugs are “among the defining rock linchpins of the 21st century so far” (New York Times). Since the release of 2021’s Grammy® and BRIT Award-nominated I Don’t Live Here Anymore, they’ve toured all over the world and released Live Drugs Again in 2024. Granduciel additionally co-produced and performed across Sam Fender’s Mercury Prize-winning 2025 album People Watching.
